My journey begins

Felicia thanks for the infor, I will use the date after the biopsy when I was told that the lump was cancer and had to be removed. Thanks. Congrats on your 4 anniversary. Have you finished all of your treatments, are you now cancer free? I am so afraid of down the road but trying to hold strong.

My journey begins

Hi

Can anyone tell me how to put my statistis at the bottom of my post? How do you determine your Dx date, it is when you receive the biopsy results that say you have cancer cells and need to get a mastectomy/lumpectomy, or is it after you received the results from the masctectomy?

Thanks

My journey begins

Hello Sisters

I was checking out this board for more than a month now and somehow I missed this section where I can be among my sisters. I was diagnosed on Aug 15, had left mastectomy on Aug 21 and started chemo AC on September 25. SE are not to bad so far.  Glad I found you all so that we can hold each others' hands as we go through this time.

Chemo in Sept 08

Hi all

Feeling a lot better thanks, I got some meds to help and I am doing OK for now, I am now drinking lots of water and the red is gone, feeling a little squeesy in the stomach but no vomitting, I am trying to eat some crackers, feeling a lot better. From now on I will always get extra anti-nausea meds.

Chemo in Sept 08

Hi family

I am starting my chemo tomorrow, ACx4 - right now I am feeling a little overhelmed, just thinking how it is going to be. Decided to come and read some posts and be among my family. Thinking and praying for you all.

Hi Bettysgirl

Ouch, so sorry to hear about your bone pain, I have not started chemo yet, what causes the bone pain? What about meds for it.

Steriod Question

Hi Lisa

I am starting my chemo one day after you, I am starting on Thursday, AC as well, glad you asked the question because I will also ask about the steriod. Since we are starting so close to each other we can compare notes.

Chemo in Sept 08

Good day to you all

Due to start chemo(ACx4) on Sept 25, a little apprehensive but want to have it started so that I can deal with it.  Getting some good tips from reading this board. Ladies I will keep reading your post for all the strength and help I need.   Will post again after sept 25. Can anyone tell me  the approximate time it will take,( doing IV), do they do both drugs together or one after the other? forgot to ask my onc. Thanks for any advice.

Just Diagnosed?

Thanks Shirlann for your inspiration,  can't wait for my tenth anniversary of this beast. I had some troublesome fibroids that warranted the hysterectomy and Gyn/ob was going to leave the ovaries in but the breast surgeon asked me to take them out in case the cancer is estrogen+, said it would be easier with the chemo treatment etc. The pathology report is not back yet but will post as soon as I received them, as I want to know about the different types of chemotherapy. Already looking online for wigs and breast prosthesis.  Will call and ask my doctor about Effexor. Thanks again for making life a little easier to bear.

Just Diagnosed?

Hello G

Thanks for your encouraging words, I am hopeful, I had a double whammy on August 21, mastectomy of left breast and hysterectomy with the removal of ovaries. I am now awaiting pathologist report on the breast lump for staging, size etc (lump was huge about 4cm before removal). I was plunged into surgical menopause, so with the onset of menopause, hot flashes for sure and the waiting of the results to start treatment, life has been a roller coast for the last two weeks, but your post has given me more hope.

Love , V
