Lung MetsTina, Absolutely NOT! I don't have lung mets, but I am sure this is not true. Others with experience will be along to give you more specifics. If that was your onc that told you that......I'd be changing oncs!! Prayers for you, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Alaska Deb UpdateBumping this up. Hoping to hear an update soon. Deb, you are so missed here. Hope you are continuing to progress in the positive direction! Your posts are always such a breath of fresh air! Maybe it is that cold Alaskan air, but I am thinking it is your positive spirit and that 'never give up' attitude. You are an important part of our community here! Huge hugs, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Bone scan moved upBe sure to mention to dentist that you are on zometa. I would not have a tooth extracted while on zometa for fear of ONJ. I, too, have been having more than usual hip pain. I've always had hip pain....can't ever lie directly on my side. And since I went to Vegas, I've had horrible knee pain..Guess I did too much walking. I am trying to ignore it. The knee pain is so much worse when I get up in the morning and gets better after I've been up for a while. So I am chalking the knee issue up to arthritis or injury from so much walking in vegas. Hope your pain issues are resolved quickly. Pain, for whatever reason, is no fun. Prayers that you get relief SOON. Hugs, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

roller coasterI would find out why onc took you off herceptin. Herceptin has been my saving grace. Like Janis, the only reason I would think of for coming off of herceptin would be heart issues. Oh, did they biopsy any of the new bc lesions? Could be you are not longer be her2+++? That is the only other reason I can think of. Find out why and if it was an oversight....get back on herceptin. You know it's bad when...Vicki, I hear ya, girl. I think I've out done you....I have dust jack rabbits!!!! No little bunnies here! Sometimes my six month old kitty comes running out behind a piece of furniture and her cute little face has cob webs all over her head and in her whiskers. I have NEVER lived like this before. At least it is only me and the furry babies here. And my furry ones could care less about my housekeeping abilities. And apparently I could care less too! I really do care, I just do not have the energy or motivation to do much. Would much rather use what little energy I have to do fun things. Vicki, your story made me laugh. Thank you for that! Sending you energetic hugs...but use the energy for something FUN.....heck with the dust bunnies! Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Jodi (Jodian)Does anyone know what happened with Jodi?? Her last post was first of August and she didn't say anything about mets other than her bone mets. I don't understand this damned disease. How did this happen so fast? Was her death from tx complications? Jodi was just dx'd barely over a year ago. I am just soooooooo mad at bc right now. Why can't it leave these young lovely mothers alone????? Sorry for the rant. I appreciate our San Diego girls telling us about meeting her and Zoe, and especially the beautiful picture of all of you. This is heartbreaking news. Hugs for us all, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Out of my mind "tailbone" pain..Lori, My original bone mets presented from a scan. I had no symptoms at all. Lesion on my L3 and a large one on the back of my skull. I concur with the others, get it checked out. Hugs, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Is this a good idea?Liz, this is an idea I know someone here has tossed around and done a little work on. I won't 'out' her...lol. She will probably be along to talk about it. I think privacy issues could be an issue. But overall, in the big picture, this would be great info. All of our cancers are different and we've all had different treatments and approaches. I appreciate your love and desire to fulfill your promise to your mom. I know you will find a way to make a difference. You are a wonderful daughter. Keep us updated. OK, Girls, I Need OpinionsYes, I did have the BRCA testing and I was negative. The breast surgeon said she really thinks researchers are going to find other genes for bc. So while I was glad I was negative, for daughter and nieces, I think the surgeon is right. There are probably other genes we could have passed this damned disease on with. Thank you so much for your prayers. They mean so much to me. Truly. Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Bad X-ray, MRI of the HumerusRoseanne, I hope and pray that you do not have bone mets. We are a great group of people, but I don't want another person to have to join us. My bone mets were diagnosed about 19 months after my original dx. The good news is...that was almost five years ago. While mets are not good, bone mets are rarely fatal. Let us know what the outcome of your tests are. IF they think it is a bone met, make sure they biopsy it. Especially since it has been so long since your original dx. Many times the receptors can change. Huge hugs and many prayers, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

OK, Girls, I Need OpinionsMy 28 year old daughter has found a lump in her breast. She had one about 15 months ago and I got her in with a great breast surgeon. They did a excisional biopsy (mainly because of my history) and it was benign. So now she finds another one in the other breast. She couldn't get into the surgeon, so she went to GP. She ordered ultrasound for today. The tech could feel the lump but she said she couldn't find it on the u/s. Tech said that part of her breast was dense and very fibrous. I told daughter to tell her doctor to order a MRI. The tech said ins should cover because of my history. My mind can't (or won't) remember seeing anyone here who has had this scenario. Any thoughts, girls? BC can do whatever it wants to me....but leave my baby alone! I hate that because of me my daughter will live in fear and have to go through hell every time she feels something different in her breasts. Thank goodness she is more than diligent with self breast exams. So I guess I need prayers and to know y'all know exactly how I am feeling. I hate this fricking disease. I will let y'all know what is going on as we progress with this. I love y'all like my own sisters, Bethie Dx 5/13/2002, IDC, 2cm, Stage IV, Grade 3, 3/17 nodes, mets, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

Any one get a break from chemo and just get Herceptin?Another faslodex and herceptin only here! I, too, have not had to do chemo for mets. If I were you, I would feel fairly comfortable with that plan. Stay diligent on scans and possible symptoms. I hope you have a nice LONG run on herceptin and AI only. You deserve it!
