Topic: My mum just had masectomy, but it's spread already.

Hi.  My poor mum was diagnosed with Parkinsons last year and now just had a masectomy as diagnosed with breast cancer recently.  Dr now said after the op that he thinks it was worse than originally thought and appeared to be in lymph nodes so may have spread, so we are waiting for more tests on kidney, liver and bones, may take a few weeks.  I don't live in the UK with her so am trying to support her over the phone, but will go and see her again soon.  She has already said that she does not want chemo, could not cope at nearly 70 and on her own and does not want discomfort etc.  Does anyone know approx how much these tests would cost if she went private in UK, I am trying to investigate.  Any others in similar situation ?  Just feel so helpless and worried, don't think it seems good.
