hi,
I am almost 3 years past diagnosis now but wanted to share this with you
http://www.thesurvivormovie.com/
It takes a while to load but is worth the wait.
If you copy the link and email it to your family and friends it helps them to see and understand where you are at.
I may have cancer but cancer does not have me.
best wishes to all

Hi Foxxf, I want to ask you if this movie actually helped you. Did it? Personally, I find it insulting and demeaning. I don't believe I have a "lesson" to learn from cancer, nor that I should acquire "humility" from the experience. Quite the contrary. I think that cancer has brought me aggravation, fear, anger, and an upset life. I don't feel I deserve it; I don't believe I'm supposed to emerge wiser and more humble. I know your motives were noble and kind. However, I'm not sure most cancer patients can find anything worthwhile in this slide show. Instead, I think it emphasizes fear (good God -- the person who selected the photos needs to be shot!), and dwells on the negative aspects of being ill. I say thumbs down to this insulting, demeaning, scary piece of cr**. Sorry. I just had to say it. Annie |

The lesson I have learned from cancer is "don't sweat the small stuff" I don't give a crap
The first time I watched the movie I cried for fear of the unknown yet to come, If it came at all. But looking back it is all true. Friends I never would have met - I could not have made this journey with out the friends I have made here on these boards. Truer words have never been spoken, I love them dearly and have never met them. The reason I posted the movie is more to share with your family and friends when telling them of your diagnosis. So many ask questions that you yourself do not have answers for yet. It helps them to understand that while the road ahead is hard and unknown underneath the determination to fight and live on is always there. So please be pacient with me while I pause to rest and heal. I never thought cancer is anything more than a son of a b***h and I still do. Fight on, Kick A$$! Foxxf |

Hey Fox, I want to apologize for being so rough. Although I still don't think the slide show is for everyone (definitely not for me), I had no business blasting anyone that way. I hope you'll forgive. Annie |

foxxff, I found the movie last year after my dx and I found it to be empowering, I was not going to let cancer rule my life. We are like tea bags, we don't know how strong we are until we were thrown into hot water. Eleanore Roosevelt
