Every since I got the results from the breast MRI that they found more problems, my body feels like it is one big cramp. I am feeling it in my boobs, my back----my chest. I dont know if I am just stressing myself out or if something is seriously wrong with me. Its not pain its just achy all over. Am I losing my mind or is this normal for your body to react to something so emotionally exhausting?

Hi Sarmcl!

You may have tensed up when you were told of the MRI results. Sometimes we tense up so much that our muscles are sore later. Even so it would be good to let your MD know of your achiness. If there is no physical cause (it could even be from one of the viruses going around), then perhaps he can help you with relaxation. In the mean time, try to do something that has helped you relax in the past such as walking, yoga, deep breathing, etc.. Share your thoughts and fears with someone, or write them down in a journal. I kept a journal throughout my breast cancer experience. It helped so much to write it all down. Then I felt as if I could let go of it. It really helped to stop the whirling thoughts.

Hi Sarmcl.  Your achiness could very well be stress and tension related.  I've had the general, all-over achy feeling ever since my diagnosis in August.  I really think the stress of it all takes its toll on your body.  I've found that exercise helps a LOT in my case.  It sort of loosens everything up and releases all that tension to a degree.  As Ginny said though, it may be a good idea to let your onc know.  My onc had me get an x-ray of my ribs recently because of some nagging soreness.  It turned out to be nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Take care and good luck to you!  Hang in there.

Hugs,

Karen

Hi Sar, it is very common to "hold" your body in peculiar ways when you are worried about some part or other. Also stress can come to any area. Heaven knows you are under stress. Things you would otherwise ignore get big, twinges, little aches.

I am sure that nothing is happening this fast. Most BC's when large enough to be found by any means are 8 to 12 years old. So chances are, this is your mind making every day aches something menacing.

Gentle hugs, Shirlann
