Scheduled for nipple reconstructin in April and I think I may change my mind. I like not having my "lights on" all the time. Any one who has had just the tatoos are you happy with it? Do you wish you would have gotten the nipples? Any photos? Thanks, Tracey

I had new nipple made on my mast side, it looked great to start--but then shrunk away lol. I am trying a radiesse injection next monday so i have 2 again. i guess this is a common problem with recon nips. See if you can get some temp nip tatoos on the web and try them to see if they would make you happy. I would be okay with my tatoo if i did not have the "projection" on the other side. Good luck with your decisions--don't know if this will help or not. |

I also had nipples reconstructed and they were great in the beginning but are almost flat. But with the tatoos, you can hardly tell that they are not there. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably just do the tatoos, they can make it look like you really have nipples then wouldn't have to worry about not wearing a bra. Lisa |

Hi, I've had breast reconstruction, both sides and tried to reconstruct the nipples twice. Did the skin "star" but both nipples flattened out. Then we took cartilige from my ear and it worked on the one breast that did not have radiation/radiotherapy but not the other because I had radiation/radiotherapy. I then had the nipple area tatooed. It lasted for 6 months before fading. I would do it again. I suppose it makes me feel like I have really, truly beaten the cancer by working to look as much as I did before - only better. But that's why I did what I did. I know there are so many different feelings and situations about this. You have to make up your own mind. Yes, I would do it all again. Would someone please tell me their experiences with tatooed nipples. How long does your tatooed nipple last? How often do you need to go in for a top-up? Thank you all for your help. |

Hi. I had bilat Mastectomies with nipple reconstruction. Its been about a year for me and I'm super pleased with it. The areola tatoos need to be darkened up but, otherwise I'm good with my new look. My only concern is the muscle pain on my nondominate hand side. It has gotten better but, the doc put 450cc implants in and my muscle would probably prefer 400. Toodles |

I couldn't face another surgery after my bilateral mastectomy and recon, even it it only required a local, so opted for the 3-D tatoo instead of nipple recon. I am really happy that I did it and happy with the results. It has been 1 1/2 years and has faded quite a bit, so I'll go back soon for a touch-up. |

Hi...I am new to this site. Just finished exchange surgery after a bi-lateral mast. with tissue expanders. Am looking into getting 3-D nipple tatoos. Does anyone know who in Nassau County, NY does this for women? My PS only does regular tatoos? |
