Hi All - Have truncal LE, lumpectomy on right breast 7/05, and 7 weeks rads.

The boob in question is itching SO bad, it is driving me nuts.  It looks no different, which of course is good.  I have been doing a lot of yard work lately, so I was thinking maybe the fluid is doing it?

Any ideas?  And any solutions to make the itching STOP would be appreciated!!!   My family is getting sympathetic itching......lol....

Hi, Moi!

Yuck! Tongue out Sorry about the itching. Sorry for your whole itchy family, in fact! Laughing

Have you been through LE therapy and learned massage, and if so are you doing it? I can imagine that extra yard work might be causing fluid build-up, and that sometimes causes me itchiness, especially if it's a sudden build-up. So perhaps (if there's no redness or warmth to the touch) just some extra massage and compression would help. (Do you have a foam chip bag or "swell spot" you can add under your bra to increase the compression for awhile?)

On the other hand, itchiness is sometimes a symptom of infection, so do watch for any pinkness or redness, or warmth to the touch, or fever, and if you see anything like that head to the ER or critical care for antibiotic help.

Of course there's always allergies too. Any change of lotion, hand soap, laundry detergent or fabric softener lately?

Do let us know what you discover, or we'll all be sitting here itching in sympathy!Undecided

Moi - Sorry that you are having an LE itching problem. Some of the things that help stop my LE itching are avoidinging humidity (I stay inside with a/c at humid times), eucerin lotion or creme, application of an ice pack or cold wet cloth to the itchy area for just a few minutes, and benadryl. Best wishes for good health!

I can't believe I forgot I posted this, lol.

I think it IS the LE causing it.   Actually I read somewhere that itching can be caused by nerve endings "coming back to life" -  it has been somewhat better because I'm done with the major part of the gardening.  But I've been exercising a bit and so it's not totally gone.  ;)

Used some of the cream they gave me when I had the rads, and that seemed to settle it down a bit.   It's still very weird!!
