I am a survivor for 5 years and 8 months. I am more than blessed to be still around. I live in Houston and work a lot. I am experiencing some fatigue after my hysterectomy last August. There was no cancer so the surgery for me was wonderful!!! The recovery of the surgery was fantastic.
I had a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. Since I am a her 2 positive I am taking hormone therapy too.
I work hard and have great days up to 5:00 p.m. and then I just want to take a nap. The nap will last like 2 hours and I can go back to bed at 10:30 again until the next day. My husband says I had always been like that which is true. I loved to rest after work. But the sleepy thing is kind of new.
I heard exercises are good but I really don't feel like exercising. Is anybody in my situation?
How many are we in STage III??? It has been hard right?

Mechita I am about 4 years out myself and still to this day have times when I could fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I only sleep about 4-5 hours a night at max and if I let myself fall asleep in the afternoon I can maybe get about three hours of sleep at night. Dont know if this helped ya but just wanted to let you know that you are not alone on this one!!!! lag Dx 4/7/2004, IDC, 5cm, 7/12 nodes |

Hi: I had a hysterectomy and my ovaries out a little more than a year ago now. I would say about 8 months after the surgery, I experienced pure exhaustion for about a month. I thought my cancer had returned, I swear. I had a mastectomy, chemo, rads and am on aromasin now. But, after many tests to rule out things like anemia, thyroid problems or even cancer, I must say the exhaustion did pass. I still tire easier than I used to, but I am not exhausted all the time. Maybe your fatigue is similar to what mine was. Nobody ever did find out why I was so tired there for awhile. In hind-site I think it was my body adjusting to no hormones. But who knows? Get some blood-work done and then relax. HUGS Wendy A Dx 3/29/2004, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIa, Grade 3, 2/18 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |

I want to thank everyone for being so kind. I am not alone!!! That helps a lot. I had a lot of tests done to also check if there was something wrong with me and Thank God everything came good. So there might be no reason for this fatigue. In the meantime I will enjoy my naps without worrying love Mechita! |

I forgot to say I had always been a hyper active. Even during my treatment I worked like crazy. After my 50th. birthday last September and the hysterectomy I still work a lot but then as I said I need to nap for a couple of hours. I will see the doctor probably within a month. I am writing now 2 questions, Ritalin Thyroid tests Thanks! |

I'm 63 and 5 years out and often take a No Doz to get me going in the morning. I finished 5 years of Arimidex and may now be on Femara (clinical trial). I also take 100mcg of Levithroid (had one-half of my thyroid removed in 1975). Linda |

Dear Linda oh I love this site. We are an awesome group. I am still with Arimidex and soon will start a trial with Lapatinib. I thought I was crazy to start a trial without having evidence of the disease. I feel so good to know that we are a good group of fighters. I am taking the fatigue in a difference way now. I am not the only one!!!! oh thanks so much. It is so good to have a support group lots of hugs Mercedes (houston) |
