Hello ladies! Sorry to meet you, but glad to have found you.

I was diagnosed in Feb. and am currently undergoing AC (15 weekly A with daily C) followed by T. (12 weekly infusions) My story echos others, I was initially stage 0, then stage I, and finally stage III due to node involvement. I had three lumpectomies to get everything, but likely finally have clear margins. I guess I'll always question that. Pathology reports say grade III.

I'm 40, and am married. I have two dogs. Hobbies include travel and collecting frequent flier miles (currently on hold) and jewelry making, but I currently seem consumed with learning all there is to know about breast cancer. Sick, huh?

Anyway, it is really nice to have a forum dedicated to stage III ladies. Hello, and I look forward with meeting each of you in the future.

I've been told my screen name is snarky. I apologize in advance, but when I signed up today I was feeling the effects of 8 weekly treatments of adriamycin. I just am out of sorts, and the name seems to fit today.

I'm hoping that you will respond with a bit of your information so that I can meet you also.

Welcome, and sorry that you had to join.  I was diagnosed July of 2007 and have completed TAC which are the same drugs that you are getting, mine were just given together, a double mastectomy, 33 rads and am currently on tamoxifen.  Overall, I feel pretty good.  Energy level is not what it used to be, but I am hoping with time that too will come.

I am also 40, married, 2 kids, naughty dog, and 2 cats.  Glad you have frequent flyer miles...start planning a celebration trip for when you are done.  We are headed to Orlando in October.  I wanted to have hair and more energy so we waited 6 months from the time I finished.

I am a novice jewelry maker myself.  It was not relaxing for me as I would hurt myself bending wire and decided to give it up for awhile.

Take care and let us know how you are doing.  My best advice is be easy on yourself and rest when you need to, and if people offer to help..let them.

Diane

Welcome ratbait,

Hehe, I like your screen name. Unfortunately, I do believe that rat poison is an ingredient in the chemo. Yucko!

While it surely stinks that you have joined our not so small club, you have found a great group of ladies who are always here to lend support and terrific advice.

I am 39, but was diagnosed at age 36. Married, two kids, 1 cat, 2 fish and 1 lizard. Much to busy to be dealing with a bc diagnosis!

Big hugs to you,

Lexi

Ratbait,

Now that's a screen name we can all appreciate, because we've all so been there.  I'm 41 (40 at diagnosis) with a husband and two young boys.  My hubby also has cancer (brain) but we're actually doing better than it sounds.  Go figure.  Let's see, I like to read and work out (like a fiend, why I don't know), spend time with my kids and husband, and I believe in getting the best out of each and every day.  I believe that there are a lot of great people on this planet (like you) that I am so interested in knowing more about.

Ha! LOVE the screen name! It about sums up how I, myself, felt after going through A/C/T. (T in my case = Taxotere) It's tough chemo, to kick cancer butt. There IS light at the end of the tunnel...I did the happy dance when I was done with chemo.

No husband or kids here, just a wonderful kitty girl. I was 43 at dx (am 44 now). Lots of youngins out there in our same boat, it seems.

"Ratbait", yes I've been there, too.  I feel like an oldie here.  I was dxed at 47 and am moving closer to the four year mark as we speak.  I also had TAC x 6, a bilateral mast, 35 rads, yada, yada, yada.......  I'm glad you found us but am sorry you had to!

Take care of YOU and hang tough.  Things will get better and there really is light at the end of this dang tunnel.

Hi, and welcome, I am nearing the end of my chemo treatments, 4AC, 12DD taxol. I only have two more taxols left and then its onto rads for me. I was dx when I was 44 (Oct 2007), I turned a young 45 in Jan 08. I am married with two grown children, a daughter and a son (he is autistic). We are expecting our first grandchild (a girl) at the end of June, and I am so excited. Almost forgot we have three dogs and several grandkitties. LOL

Hello, and welcome snarky!  This place will give you lots of comfort when you are feeling down and lonely.  Lots of nice women.  It has been 3 years since my dx, and I still like to come here to chat.  Take care of yourself and don't ever hesitate if you need to vent.
