Roxy,

No, I don't think being off the tamoxifen for four days will result in a recurrence.  Hang in there!  I remember after having my second child that when I went back on BCPs, I got the same pains in my legs.  My primary care doctor said to watch it for a few days (sounds crazy!), and sure enough it went away.  Hopefully, it will for you, too.  I think you believe, as I do, that God is in control, so always remember that when things like this happen.  That doesn't remove us from our responsibility to do all we can as patients, but ultimately, we're in God's hands.

Hugs

Bobbie

I'm just new at this, but my prayers are with you. I'm just at the beginning of all this, and reading these comments is making me feel so much better.

Lots of love and hugs (and prayers) are going your way.

Done, Roxy.

Sorry to hear your having leg pains. Not to worry about the time off of Tamoxifen and recurrence. It's a hormonal which lasts a longer time in our system, certainly enough to see you through this period.

Sending support your way,
Tender

I suspect the pain in your lower legs is nothing serious but good thing you are having it checked out.  Being off Tamoxifen for a few days will not increase your risk of recurrence.  I know how you feel because I use to think that if I missed just one day my cancer would come back.  You are still in a very fearful time.  The further out you get from finishing treatment the less fearful you will become.  Hang in there and I will say a prayer for you.

I would think that if you have pain in both legs it probably isn't a clot. It would be quite a coincidence for them both to form clots at the same time. I have had a clot and the pain was lower than the actual clot and was very sore and tender in that one spot. It wasn't a general ache.

About the tamox. I was worried about that at the beginning too. However, I believe that our bodies have enough circulating after being on it for a while so that it shouldn't be a problem.

Good luck with the test.

Glad for your good news! I remember the first time I forgot/ran out of pills. I freaked a bit. Someone here posted that you have enough in your system to last a while. No worries there.

Well ain't that a kick in the head!

My prayers are with you.  I did not take the Tamoxifen and will be eight years out from Chemo in November.  I do take Evista and one of the side effects of that is clots.  I was told to be sure that I get up and move around quite often as I have a sedentary job, medical transcription.  I have had no problems.
