I probably posted this before but here goes. I am having shooting pains in my radiated breast. I finished radiation in March. I can't call my radiation oncologist because she is in the hospital that billed me out of network even though the doctor is in network (they bill using a facilaity ID, rather than the doctor's ID to get more money). Anyone else with pain?

Hi Joan, It has been a while. At the start of rads, I was getting shooting pains. The techs think it is related to the healing process and often hears this from other patients. Now, it is hard to tell which pain is what. I am burnt and peeling. My skin is so raw and sensitive to the touch that I am taking some of my left over percosets so I can sleep at night. I think the shooting pains are normal. Mine felt like stabs, and I think they are the nerves trying to talk to one another. However, I did get a bad infection (abscess and all) in my irradiated boob. The way I could tell was the difference was the pains got harder and longer, and duller. Also, the area below boob, ached all the time. If the pains get worse, you MUST see a doctor. Go back to your surgeon, or your primary care physician. Dx 12/28/2007, IDC, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 1, 0/3 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |
