My first diagnosis last year was that my tumor was a triple negative. Last Monday I was diagnosed with DCIS which is ER+ and PR-. There's no mention of what the HER status is. So...where/ what group does that put me in to??? Anyone else who's all over the page like me?

Hi,

My first diagnosis was in 2001 and it was IDC triple neg in the left breast. Then in 2007 I had  a "new primary" of lobular in the right breast that was ER/PR+.

My doctors have told me that they are two separate cancers.

Did your new cancer come back to the same area of your first? Or was it in a new location?

I am really sorry you have to deal  with this again. It seems that once we finally get used to being "one type" it is hard to have to now learn about and become a new type.

Hugs to you,

Linda,

I just posted on the Just Diagnosed section last night but yesterday I found out that in addition to the triple negative IDC, I also have ER/PR+ DCIS in the same tumor. No mention of the Her status for the DCIS tumor. I am also confused. But I see my onc in a couple of hours as I have my chemo today and will ask.

Hi Linda,

I just joined this site "hooking up" from Sweden. As we do not have any community handling triple neg.

Sorry to hear that you also have been diagnosed triple neg as I am, but I would like to share with u all the feedback I got from my onc up here in the North and would be greatful to hear about your comments from the Us.

And if anyone else have any input please let me know.

Looking forward to hear from you and keep up the spirit!

G,

Last year Cancer was found in my left breast and I had a Mastectomy and DD AC followed with DD Taxol. Last week it was found in my right breast and I'm having a Mastectomy on April 22.

Formygirls,

Let us know what your Onc says. This has me baffled, as well.

Vickan,

Sorry you had to join our club, but welcome and keep up posted on your journey. It's always interesting to hear how this is being treated in other locations.

Linda,

My oncologist just said that it is common and very possible to have DCIS that has hormone receptors and IDC that is triple negative in the same tumor. In my case, she is going to ignnore the DCIS and treat the IDC. Did not have too much other information. They are going to look at my slides for the third time to confirm the findings
