She's been missing for several days. I'm concerned. Is she having chemo weekly? It would have been Monday or Tuesday, I can't remember. dx triple neg in 2005, mets to mediastinal nodes 12/07 , chemo Jan - April 08, remission 2/08; CT scan 4/08 showed one healing spine lesion, currently on chemo break, followup scans scheduled for late July; fingers crossed for no progression!

OMG I'm here. I've posted a few times too! Brenda I even pm'd you twice! Nice to be needed I guess. I was supposed to get chemo on Monday but my counts tanked. It didn't really bother me for some reason. So I went and infused myself with margaritas for Cinco de Mayo. Yesterday I had appts all day at MD Anderson for pre op port placement. So of course they do bloodwork and BAM I got chemo. To make sure my counts stay good for Monday's port surgery I have to give myself Neupogen injections which I'm sure I can figure out. Here's the kicker: Those shots have to be refrigerated. Right after chemo I drove myself to the Astros game. I stopped at Target and bought a cooler and some baggies. Filled some baggies with ice at their coke dispenser, packed it all in cooler with Neupogen and voila! nice and cool shots when I got home at 11pm. Hee Hee Hee. In face of all the adversity, I got to go to my game and keeps shots cold. I'm still not to the point where I'm going to let this crap slow me down! Still doing well. Planning to take it easy over the weekend and then port placement on Monday. I was suprised he is going to do it under general anesthesia. My last one was woozy meds and I stayed awake the whole time. Wow I rambled yet again. Love ya! Watson I'll do anything I have to do - The Smithereens

Watson, I had a general with my second port, too; don't understand why. The first was done by Interventional Radiology under concious sedation or whatever they call it, so I drove myself to the second, done by the b/c surgeon. I'd only allotted about an hour for it, too! The worst part was I missed a glass of wine and watching a tornado touch down near my house with my special group of friends.... told 'em I'd be there at 2 and didn't get out of hosp till 7:30, dang it. I hope your port placement went well. What do you think of the Gemzar? I haven't been on the boards much at all so I probably missed your comments. I've had 2 treatments of Cisplatin/Gemzar, have this week off, then 1 more and start all over again. The good news? Just found out Clearwire has provided WiMax to my treatment room! mmmmm.....margaritas... Dx 5/1/2006, IDC, 2cm, Stage IIb, Grade 3, 1/15 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

Hello! I had my port put in yesterday. Totally uneventful. Except for the fact that they couldn't find my husband for over an hour after my surgery was done. They give you a buzzer like you get at a restaurant so they can page you anywhere in the hospital. Paged, paged, paged. No response. I sent the girl out there to see if he was in waiting room. Nothing. Finally the nurse hit the buzzer and he popped right up. He was out there the whole freaking time! The girl they had trying to find him was a little teched in the head I do fear. Gemzar is going well so far. They added benadryl and steroids to my mix and I haven't gotten the rash this time. Doing well! Watson I'll do anything I have to do - The Smithereens
