oz, mine don't grow any better since being on zometa. I have found since I have been using the udder smooth lotion several times a day that mine are growing alot better. I watched a beauty show that explained if you keep the cuticles healthy then your nails should grow well. I bought the special lotion they sold of course and it did help. Then when I was trying to help my dry cracked feet and heard of this product I started using it alot and all of a sudden I noticed my nails are growing and the tips are nice and white. So can't say what is doing it for me but I am just going to keep using the cheap udderly smooth lotion as long as they grow! LuAnn -- www.luannsblog.typepad.com

Ozzie, my neurosurgeon had a tough time getting the blade to work on my skull. It was as hard as nails, HAHA.As well as I had an accident last year and my leg was inJured. My leg should have broken , but the bones very strong. 4 years of Zometa, every month.. Have to take a calcium suppl as well.

For all out there taking Zometa....I took it for 2years, once a month. Well I developed osteonecrosis of the jaw. A small portion of my jaw bone is exposed in the back of my mouth. There is really nothing one can do about this either. No treatment, just wait and see if it heals. Bone has been exposed for about a year now. The new theory is that Zometa can be given twice a year and be effective. So be vigilant and ask onc to decrease Zometa if poss. My nails were def. stronger and nicer while getting all that Zometa. |

That is possible, I know Ausborn has not been on here in awhile, but her daughter had osteonecrosis of the hip. She had to have a hip replacement. This can happen from too many steriods during your life. Her daughter had some sort of asthma issue that caused her to need alot of steriods. Cancer definitely causes us to use alot of steriods, so this is very possible. LuAnn -- www.luannsblog.typepad.com
