Last night my adult son was driving home by himself on the highway when a semi-truck started veering over into his lane. He swerved over to the gravel shoulder to avoid it and spun out. The car turned and the semi drove right over (yes, right over) the top of his Ford Taurus. It completely crushed the pasager side. My son climbed out of the wreak with glass in his skin and blood coming from his eye, but fully concious, according to the sherrif. Anyway they rushed him to one hospital and then sent him to the eye hospital at the University of Michigan. The miracle is that he only had a deep cut in his inside lower eyelid (which required some specialized stiching), some minor abrasion on his corneas, and assorted small cuts and scratches. No broken bones, no closed head injury, and the eye things will all heal with treatment. His car was completely totaled and flattened. The towing company and the sherrif could not believe he survived at all, much less with minimal injury. He is very sore and looks like a boxer after a bad fight, but he's ok. He must have a guardian angel!
I took a few Xanex during this day to keep my stress down. When the call came in at 5:30 this morning telling me my son was in a serious accident, I was afraid they were going to say he died. My family and I are thanking the Lord for this great blessing. Today, I completely forgot about cancer.
Keep believing in miracles, they do happen!

Thank you everyone! My son is home and doing ok. He's sore and the stitches in his inner eyelids and scratches in the corneas really hurt, but he knows he's fortunate to be alive. Today I took him to the eye clinic for followup and tomorrow I will take him again for a 2 hour retnal scan. We've been on the phone all day with insurance people etc. I am surprised how much energy I have to help him. I guess it's like the stories about the mother who lifts a car to rescue her trapped child. Nothing like the mama lion instinct waterlily
