How long, how often have you been rec'ing treatment and how are you doing on the three? Are treatments being given at any particular research hospital? When the mixture of the three was discussed, I was told that the hospital where I am rec'ing treatment have not implemented the study yet as a result, I am on abrax & hercep only. I am on week 6 and going weekly. So far so good! I am scheduled for f/u scans this month to see how it's working. |

Hi Everyone, I am so glad to find this conversation, I have just started abrazane and herceptin. I will have 4 tx of abrazane and 1 yr. of herceptin. I have just finished 4 dense doses of A/C which was tough in its self. And I heard that the herceptin and abrazane would be easier. I have had one tx of abrazane and going for my 2nd on wed. and 2 tx of herceptin. I have had the worst bone aches muscle aches etc from waist down feet swelling tingling starting. I can't sleep because of the constant aches. I have tried diffrent meds but they don't seem to work. And I am sensitive to pain meds which work opposite on me. Anyone have any suggestions??? I do work in a busy restraunt but since being diagnosied I cut my schedule to 3-4 days a week 4to 5 hr. shifts. but it does not seem to make a diffrence if I sit and do nothing or I am working I still have the pain. maybe alittle less with not working, but I can't not do something. Any suggestions would be great and I look forward to keeping in touch with you all. Bridget |

Hi! Sorry to be late responding. First, I did a second opinion and lung biosy at Ohio State Univ in June 2007 after being diagosed in August 2006. I was not eligible for the clinical trial there, but my doctor in Dayton worked with my insurance/drug company to secure my chemo mix. I had previously taken your standard A/C mix and Taxol & Herception with so-so results...meaning it didn't get any worse nor better. Started this mix in August 2007 after healing from surgery. This mix worked really well for about 9-10 months with very few side effects (some numbness in feet, fingers, dripping nose/nosebleeds, hoarseness, tiredness). Bridget, I don't know what to tell you about the aches, but definitely talk to your doctor. There may be simple over the counter drugs that may help. Hope this helps. Good luck. |
