I got approval from my oncologist in the past when I was on chemo PROVIDED I brought all my own instruments.  Under no circumstances could the gal use anything belonging to the shoppe.

Hope this is helpful.

I had all my own implements too so was able to have a manicure and pedicure during my treatment.  An ingrown toenail hurts!  I did not have my gels put on during treatment either, just had a manicure and didn't have the cuticles touched.

Hey Kim,

Shoot, if I lived close I'd take care of your feet!Smile I had a pedicure done while in tx and just asked them to be careful when trimming my tonails. I didn't have an ingrown tonail at the time though. I would hope that they could take extra care and still give you a pedicure. You deserve it fo sure!

Kimmie, I would open the phone book and start calling salons that offer pedicures.  I am confident you will find one.  I never heard of a place that won't use your own tools. Good luck.

Yeah, and in some areas there are "traveling" salons that will come to you for a pedicure. That would be nice, especially if you are having a day that you don't feel so well. Think about that! They come to your place and do your feel. Heavenly! Go for that!

I have regular pedicures, in a salon that I know well, and am confident with. They also know my situation. I too, am prone to ingrown toenails so they are always digging! I have been going since my October diagnosis. No problems, but you need to know who you are dealing with. We MUST have pretty toes! Our shoes are counting on us!!!
