I am really new to this, and I am hoping someone can help me. I just had an ultrasound for a cyst and was told everything was fine, to come back in a year. When I got home I had a message from the Dr. saying that my ultrasound looked different when she read it on the computer. She said it showed "echoes" and that I need to come in for a needle/core biopsy. Any thoughts! I am scared.

I have had several complex cyst aspirated. Complex cyst has what they call "debris" in them; maybe a little blood or other cell tissue thus they create echos sometimes. I had several pop up even during chemo. When aspirated, mine were OK. I never had to have a needle/core biopsy. They only aspriated the cyst using ultrasound to see that it "deflated" completely.

I am not sure if this totally answers your question.

Good luck - hope all goes well.
