I went to my primary who put me on antibotics and sent me for an ultra sound. the findings wer in my right breast and nothing in my left breast. there is one cyst 0.6 cm at 12 o'clock and a nonspecific rounded structure at 9 o'clock that precludes further evalutation. I am scheduled for another ultra sound May 14. Isn't that a long time to wait or am I just over reacting. I watched my 32 year old brother die of cancer 11 years ago and my best friend died of breast cancer 4 years ago. Any advice would be greatly welcomed. Thanks, Laurie King |

In denser tissue, it is harder to discern whether there are problems, so they may need more images to be sure. Even if you need a biopsy, 80% of biopsies come out benign. I made myself crazy with worry between my two appointments and the outcome was: "normal. No evidence of cancer." I wish I could get back the sleep I lost needlessly worrying. Until something is wrong, assume nothing is! |
