I had a breast reduction at the end of January of this year. Of course with this I have quite scar but with 100 stitches put in I wouldn't of expected anything less, however my Dr did an AMAZING job and I am thrilled with results!! Anyway I just noticed that their is a slight bump right over one part of the scar, husband thinks it is just a thickening of that part of the scar. You can hardly feel it, but it has me freaked!! Husband said that it doesn't feel like a lump at all but I am still worried. One reason I am freaked is after my surgery the tissue of course was sent to Pathology and they saw that I had LCIS. They checked many many other parts of the tissue and luckily they didn't find it anywhere else. YEAH!!!However now until I have my 3 month check up with my Oncologist (in a few weeks) I am going to worry. Do you think it is ok, is it possible that it can just be a thickening over the scar? Thanks for ahead of time for advicing.

62192, Just my thoughts, but I would call the surgeon first or the onc. and ask to leave a message for the Dr to call you. Why take a chance? It might be just a thickening of the scar but it is hard enough for those with medical degrees to know much less us. Tell the doctor what you feel and see if they will make you an earlier check up. Can't hurt to call. Good luck! We have enough to worry about without letting our imaginations go wild. Information is what we need. Wink Wink333

I agree with Wink..try to get in earlier just to allay your worries. It is highly probable that it's just scar tissue (I have quite a bit of dense lumpy bumps under my scar), but you need to be absolutely sure. ~Marin I can't change the wind, but I can adjust my sails!

Thank you for the responses. I did go into my Oncologist ( I was scheduled anyway soon so I asked if I could come in now). He told me the same thing we were thinking. It is just a thickening area on that part of the scar. He said something about maybe there was still a stitch there underneath that had not dissolved yet. I wouldn't think so 3 months later. I was just glad that I don't have to worry about it.
