Yes I do.Well I should say that my dr thinks I do because i have another mutation gene p53 and if you have that chances are you have the BRCA 1 and 2.I'm In the high risk group because how large the tumor was 3cm and 1 node positive, and because of that mutation. Its been along 9 months of treatment.I have had 6 months of kemo 6 weeks of radiation 2 lumpectomy and a week ago I had a full historectomy because my cancer was ER/PR positive her2 negative.I hope and pray that the historectomy worked and it keeps me from having a reacurance. My Dr for the first time is being positive about my chances. Its a scary thing to have BC but to have the mutations it makes it more stressfull.I'm positive that all will be ok I'm a strong beleaver in the power of prayer.God has got me through every step of the way.Godbless roxy

Hello Roxy,

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate.I had a hysterectomy too. I am HR/PR negative. I just did it to avoid ovarian cancer.I am tri neg. I am 5 1/2 years out. I am very fortunate! I remember when I was first diagnosed I was asking God to let me see my daughter enter kindergarten, ...She is in 3rd now.  Wow, I am fortunate and I plan on seeing my grandbabies in kindergarten.  I am always looking over my shoulder. Nervous about what my funky genes are going to stir up next. Thank you again for your response. I wish you the best recovery! Godbless you too!

Stacy

Dear Stacy,

We have had several women with both mutations on the FORCE website.  You might also post there (http://www.facingourrisk.org) .  The website is devoted to people with hereditary breast or ovarian cancer or a BRCA mutation.

I have a BRCA 2 mutation myself.

Hugs and love,

Sue

I am waiting for my test result to come back.  I keep wondering if I did the right thing in being tested but my mother passed away from ovarian cancer at 56 and I have an aunt with bc.  I have had a mastectomy on my right breast after dx of dcis and my surgeon brought up the test from my history and being 44.

Did you have a hysterectomy by choice because of a positive test?

Hello,
