I had my left breast off in March 07 still undergoing treatment almost halfway with Herceptin that I'm suppose to get for a year.  I just found out Friday that I have it on the other breast.  Wow, I cant believe it!  So, that means a year later I have it if you ask me everything they gave me didnt work.  Also I have congestive heart failure from the chemo.

Hello, I feel your pain. I had breast cancer last year, this time in my right breast and had a lumpectomy and radiation. Now I've found out it's in my left. I'm having a mastectcomy on the 24th and will have a 2nd when that breast has healed from the radiation. It's so crazy, I can't believe either that this has happened. My doctors think Tamoxifen is what I'll be on, no chemo unless my lymphnodes are positive (they don't think they are). I'm so afraid of chemo and so sad to hear that you're suffering from congestive heart failure. I'm 43 and want to do everything possible to live a healthy long life and am not sure if the benefits of chemo outweigh the many risks. You're in my prayers. Diana

Linduh56,

Gosh, I'm so sorry to hear your situation. I wanted to post back and encourage you to post on the HER+ thread, were others may help you with HER+ breast cancer.

My heart goes out to you: to have cancer once and be hurt by its treatment, and then to be told it involves the other breast is tough. So we'll be tough along side of you against it.

Please tell us more of what is planned, should you like. We're here around the clock for all.

Thinking of you,
Tender
