My family's insurance company of 40 years just turned me down for life insurance (after having already accepted me). I wasn't asking for a large policy, just enough to ship my remains home and bury me.

Does anyone know of an insurance company that sells small policies (+/- $10k)?

If I can find a company that sells both life and auto, I would switch my two cars over to vote with my feet.

I don't know about an ins. co. but my dh and I preplanned and prepaid for our memorial services, cremation, et all.  I would imagine you could discuss this with a funeral home in your home town and see if they have a payment plan that is bonded, insured, or what ever.

Our local one has been here for 35 years, so we feel pretty safe with them.

I did read recently that it's not recommended to do this in case the facility changed hands, and that you should just begin a savings account until you get enough to get a CD and then keep adding to it.
