My doctor gave me the okay--once my drains were out and I was healing up. You sound like you are well on your way, so I am thinking it is fine now! Enjoy!

I'm three weeks out from my bil-mast., and took my first bath last night.  Since I'm still healing, as you are too, I didn't let those areas soak in the water just to be safe.  All the same, I love baths, so it felt great to finally take one!!  If you've had no complications, you should be fine.  Can't hurt to call your PS.  Good luck!

If your drains are out then it should be fine- just call your PS's office.  The important thing is that steri strips, or open little holes- like from where they pulled the drains, are DRIED IMMEDIATELY upon getting out of the tub.  Water lingering over open places is what causes infections and the like- so make sure you towel off gently and thoroughly.

njnative, shower is different from bath!  You can get a big tegaderm bandage to cover drain site, and/or wrap your torso in saran wrap...  so it's possible to keep the falling shower drops out of the drain tube opening.  But soaking in a tub has to wait until drains are removed.  In any case, I recommend following your own doctor's instructions.
