I am having a skin sparing mastectomy of my right breast with expanders for reconstruction on 5/20. I was diagnosed after routine mammogram on 1/29, subsequent ultrasound biopsy found a small nodule, subsequent mri biopsy found larger spot invasive duct cell - hard to believe I could have something like this without knowing and I feel great. I just had my 50th birthday, and am on my own with two teenage girls aged 14 and 16. I was wondering if you could tell me what it will really be after surgery? When will I feel pretty good? I want to be strong but would feel better having some real life info from some who have gone through this.
