Hello everyone! My surgery was May 7 and I returned to my doctor today and was expecting my results, but they were not completed. After my first biopsy I waited for over 5 weeks to find out I had cancer. I chose to have a modified radical mastectomy and was hoping to find out today if the nodes were clear. Needless to say that when they were not done, I got scared. I live in a small province in Canada and results are normally 5-7 days, today was 9 days. How long should it take........

Oh Mary ..Waiting is the WORST time and shouldn't be prolonged like this. Sometimes it just takes a call from your doctor to get them. I had to wait over a long weekend and that was bad enough. The holdup will have nothing to do with how good/bad the results are. Its just like in any job...some ppl are quicker and more effecient in getting the job done and sending off results. I would have asked the Dr if he could get them ASAP and let you know though.BC teaches us to be a bit pushy. Wishing for good results for you. Hugs jezza |
