I had a left breast lumpectomy in December 2006. I just discovered what feels like a big pimple under my armpit last Friday evening in the shower on the right side. When I touch it and press on it, it hurts, and it feels (and looks) more like a pimple, and it was red. I know that bump wasn't there prior to Friday. Also, just a week before, I saw my PCP and she gave me a clinical breast exam. I asked her how to feel my lymph nodes and she showed me what to do. That bump is very easy to see, but it wasn't there when I was visiting with my PCP. I tried squeezing it, but it hurt too much, so I stopped, and started putting benzoyl peroxide on it. It doesn't hurt as much now and has shrank in size, but it's still there.
I haven't called my PCP to report this, hoping it's just a blemish that's going to go away on it's own. Also since it appeared very suddenly (kind of like over night), I'm hoping it's nothing. Has anyone else experienced acne under their armpits?

I had one pop up near my scar near the underarm, and it sent me into immediate panic. Turned out to be just a pimple, but I let my pcp look anyway. Maybe talk to your pcp, and see what she says. Jennifer Dx 4/28/2006, IDC, <1cm, Stage Ia, Grade 3, 0/13 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2+ |

it can be a couple of things...an ingrown hair or sweat gland duct clogged too...probably not an accurate choice of words on that last one but i have had them also and they turn out to be something non-cancer related... never hurts to get it checked and resolved, in my opinion... laurap

Sounds like acne/pimple if the ben/perox is helping, is may be time for your period, sometimes pimples pop up then. be careful about squeezing, it may cause it to get infected... sometimes your can get a cyst or abcess under the arm, they are painful, so you need to be careful about shaving...use new razors. Good luck and God bless! Amber Almond
