    amarilys,

Waiting is the worst, no doubt about it. Although it is not easy, remember that worrying won’t change anything. If you spend enough time reading on line you will read every type of possible “outcome” to tests and imaging. Some of those things will be common and some very rare but please don’t equate yourself with the experiences of others as room for individual variations is quite large! Yes, it is true that mammos don’t pick up everything. It is not a perfect diagnostic tool. Have you had genetic testing done? Surprisingly, the vast majority of bc diagnoses are not genetically related.

I know I can’t say much to alleviate your anxiety. Since almost everyone on this forum has bc we have all been in your shoes at some point we feel you. Distract yourself in any way you can and take care.

If it looks the same on both sides, that sounds like it's just the way your breasts look when you are in those positions. As exbrnxgrl said, most cancers aren't genetically related, so try to remember that your mother's breasts are not your breasts. Seventy pounds is a lot of weight, but you're right, Covid and its aftermath, and then dieting, are both reasons why you weigh less now.

Try to be supportive of your mother without jumping to unfounded conclusions about your own health. She needs you to focus on her right now, and you don't want to put her in the position of having to worry about your health again after you already had Covid, do you?

I am in no way trying to scare you. And it sounds like it’s on both sides so that is a good sign.

My story is this. I noticed just lumpy bumpy breast tissue similar to fibrocystic breast changes. I went to get a mammogram and it was normal.

Had a little mor dimpling on right breast and it began to look smaller than the other. Pushed for a biopsy and it was Lobular cancer in the breast (which so happens to be the one that will not show on imaging)

If you have any doubt push for a biopsy. Mine grew for over a year because my mammogram missed it and I thought I was okay.

Again chances are yours is nothing. But you would rather know. I have regrets of not pushing harder. And my breast dr could not feel a lump either or even see anything on an ultrasound.

Praying and believing it’s nothing for you.

    Amarylias85;

Thank you for coming here. As you clearly stated, you are here so that you do not cause stress for your mother who is dealing with breast cancer.

You just went through Covid and you too are profoundly affected by your mother’s dx. So sorry you have had so much to face.

No one should tell you not to worry in order to protect others. You are here for exactly that reason. To protect your loved ones. We will support you and totally understand your fears. Breast cancer scares all women of all ages and no one here should decide whether or not you have the right to worry. You are worried and even though you have no concrete reason to worry yet, this needs to be a safe place to express anything you need to do that you can protect your mother.

You are a wonderful daughter. Thanks for trusting us to support you.

Was your mother's diagnosis ILC (lobular) or IDC (ductal)? Was she pre- or postmenopausal?

Hi, I hope you are doing well and your results come back clear. I, too am experiencing this symptom but just in one breast. And I too have health anxiety, so I can relate.

But from what I understand, having this change in both your breasts is reassuring. And I also have read that gaining/losing a lot of weight can affect the Coopers ligament. And a damaged coopers ligament can cause dimpling and dents.

You're doing everything you can, talking to your doctor, being vigilant, and going to the tests. Rest assured, you're doing everything you can to ensure the best outcome possible, regardless of what it is that's causing your symptoms.

Sending love and luck your way

Amarylis, since you have health anxiety, maybe it is not a good idea to hang around this forum? I mean, it might do you more harm than good.

Was your mother's diagnosis ILC (lobular) or IDC (ductal)? Was she pre- or postmenopausal?

I'm 23 I turn 24 in 3 weeks and I've been dealing with the same thing since 2021 so I first spotted a indent underneath and kind of on the side of my left breast in may of 2021 I got an breast exam everything looked good. Then weeks late I noticed a dimple above my left breast nipple I went again and got an breast exam doctor couldnt feel a lump said tissue feels normal sent me on my way. Then i decided to examine both breast and to my surprise I found a large indented line on my right breast that when I lift my hands over my head it flattens the side of my breast but no lumps just sharp pains in random placates of both breast. Me being a hypochondriac I went back shown a gynmy breast and she sent me for an ultrasound. Wanted a mammogram but since I'm so young they insisted a ultrasound would be best so I went and got breast scanned came back all clear normal breast tissue fast word a yr later same dents same sharp pains so I went and got seen by a breast specialist he wasn't so concerned and said because my breast are sagging and very heavy that my coppers ligament are cause the definite indents all over my breast. I wanted more answers being the health hypochondriac I am and got another ultrasound and came back clear again. I'm still worried and don't know what to do.

thanks for the well wishes and the response. I just been having pain in both breast and dumpling in both breast but no lumps. And I have had 2 clear ultrasounds thus far im just worried because I’ve heard of lobular “c” being basically hidden in ultrasounds.
