Hi everyone,

I am part of a team of cancer researchers and psychologists at Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) running free online mental health programs for those who have finished their primary cancer treatment (i.e., surgery, chemo, radiotherapy). Our programs focus on developing skills to cope more effectively with difficult emotions - which we know don't simply stop when treatment comes to an end!

We understand that it isn't always easy to reach out for mental health support (especially in the context of COVID-19), which is why our programs can be completed online and from your own home.

Our current 2-week online program ("Flexible Thinking") tackles thoughts around worry, rumination, and catastrophising. Our next 2-week program ("Doing Things Differently") will be running within the next month.

Feel free to Email our team at psych.cancope@monash.edu or private message me if you have any questions and if you would like to take part.

Thank you everyone :)
Isabelle

Hi LaughingGull, no you absolutely don't need to be in Australia. However, some of our automated Emails might reach you at funny times (e.g., early in the morning or late at night).. so if you don't live in Aus, we suggest that you turn phone notifications off at night.

Also, our team will call you over the phone initially to introduce you to the program. If you live outside of Australia, we will call you over WhatsApp (a free smartphone app which allows international calls).

As I can't send links over the forum, please Email psych.cancope@monash.edu if you would like the sign-up link & for more information.
