Hi all I am on zoladex and exemestane. Had a clear bone scan in January and have started this new leg and hip pain that comes and goes. At times I feel a pooling pain in my groin and pelvis area . Not sure what it is

It's probably from bike riding and the sitting from working full time I would say monitor it and see if it fades away or continues and if continues or gets worse call doctor make appt.

Keep a record of your activity and what makes it better or worse. That may help you pinpoint the source.

Hi Friends. I was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in June last year and have finished chemotherapy, surgery and radiation . I am on hormonal treatment and am done 8 of 17 herceptin and perjeta. I started chemotherapy in July and developed a lymph node swelling in Augusta. It has stayed since there and my pelvic and abdomen scan and bone scans in January were clear. So oncologist was not concerned and said it's very rare for breast cancer to go there. But it still is there and she said for my peace of mind will do an ultrasound on that node.. I wonder that when the scans were clear why the in lingual node was swollen. My mind goes crazy on every ache and pain .

Posted earlier ad new topic but I guess it better to put in this thread

Hi @flo80, I’ve been having on and off lower back pain too since last year . Mostly on the lower left side of my tail bone. A bit of pain when i sit and have my legs in a diamond position and I lower the left side down to stretch. I’ve had 2 petscans and 1 ct scans so far and they’re all clear. So I’m clueless where the pain is coming from. I’m blaming it on the femara for now

Hi, I’m struggling with lower back pain and hip pain, with some pelvic pain. It’s deep in my bones. Same thing - no explanation that I can think of and so far blood work and xrays have been clear. I’m convinced it’s the tamoxifen. I have been off tamoxifen for over a week and there is some improvement, but it’s not totally gone. I expect it will take a few weeks to totally leave my system. I wonder whether the tamoxifen could be causing your issues

Hi there,

Tamoxifen can really pack a whollup with the bone pain. It started the day after I took my first pill for me.

Currently I treat with ibuprofen when it gets really bad, and just try to suck it up the rest of the time. I have heard that some MOs will recommend Claritin for the bone pain as an off-label use. I have no idea why or if it works, though.

I'm sorry that you are dealing with this. Definitely talk to your doctor just to be safe.

I stated pain in my groin and pelvis area 4 weeks after I started letrozole. I was so worried and I asked the surgeon who removed my ovaries to check it out since she did put the camera inside for surgery. She said it was clear. I asked her what should I look for since I started letrozole I'm having unusual aches and pains. She said if they are same level of pain, don't worry but, if the pain increases, then check with MO. I have a feeling these are side effects of AI. Also, one knee is hurting, swollen and has a lump in the back, my neck got swollen with a lump. I have checked with specialist and so far they don't see anything to worry about. We need to report these to FDA for other users to know and not to worry like us. I can't believe that a year ago I was overseas in the beach, running and swimming all day long and now I feel like an old lady with complains from aches and pains from side effects of medications.

It’s true the AIs can do a number on your joints. I’m proof of that. Aramidex just about did me in. 4 years on that. 7-8 month as on tamoxifen, same pain. Currently on letrozole, nothing. If it gets really unbearable talk to your MO about switching. Sometimes it’s the filler in the med, a different manufacturer change can make a big difference.

Some ladies here say NON DROWSY Claritin helps. Didn’t for me, won’t hurt, so try.

Our minds do tend to go dark places over aches and pains. Most times it’s caused by something else. A general rule is if it lasts 2 weeks, get it checked.

Reoccurrence 3-19. Dx IDC, Stage IIIA, Grade 3
