I had my initial IDC breast cancer in 2013. I've been having weird feelings in my lower back especially on the right side. I was told to call my primary care doctor and I just got off the phone with her. She told me we need to order a chest X-ray for your lungs. I know I should be better at this by now but I'm shaking and crying a bit. I'm so scared. I wish I could find women who can give me their story. I am thinking the worst and of course my husband says don't worry until you know. I can't understand why he thinks I shouldn't worry. :(

That will be a good place to start. Do you still see your MO? You're "only" 7 years out from your initial diagnosis, so maybe you can see him or her again.

I hope you have a peaceful Thanksgiving tomorrow. I grew up in Woodside, and still know people who live in Los Gatos and Palo Alto.

Let us know when you hear something, or just come back to chat. These are unsettling times with COVID and now another cancer scare.

I still see my Oncologist once a year. The protocol was to contact my primary first. I would have rather talked to my Oncologist. I would like to be on the thinking positive side of things. :( I've never been that lucky using this site. I mean I'm hoping this time maybe I can hear similar circumstances.

Are you still taking Arimidex? If so, have you had a bone density scan?

I had one in August because I'm on an AI and Ovarian Suppression. Turns out my bone density is low from the meds (Osteopenia) and now I'm getting Prolia injections 2x a year.

Anyway, my MO asked if I'd been having lower back aches. I had been, but thought they were related to back issues I've had for years. She said lower back aches are a symptom of low bone density.

I wish I could stop being so frantic. One thing is that the strong chemo I had for breast cancer also gave me heart failure. I was told this a couple years ago.

I had Osteopenia before breast cancer. I did have a bone density test at the beginning of the year. My Oncologist said it was stable. Thank you for sharing with me. This really takes the Stuffing out of my Thanksgiving, right? LOL Had to think of something silly. HUGS

It's hard to describe. It doesn't bother me in bed. It's more like a feeling of being uncomfortable or just an awareness of the area. It's been a few weeks or more. I have right hip pain from my Arimidex. Since being on Arimidex I've experienced some knee pain and hip pain. It's something I've been able to tolerate. I know I've read alot of women have very severe joint pain etc from this medication. I have been thankful that I don't have too many side effects. My left hip only occasionally hurts when I go for extended walks.
