fmilloy,   I am right there with you. I'm on Arimidex, but i have tried almost all of them. My joints hurt so bad. I am suppose to get some quartazone shots in my wrists to see if it helps. I think our bodies have been through so much and i know the AI's are hard on the joints and bones. Keep me posted if you find something that works. I wish you good luck with it! I did not have joint pain with tamoxifen but it has been a serious problem with AIs.

In my case it set in gradually and only became noticeable months after I started Arimidex, then kept getting worse.

Finally about a year and a half into Arimidex, my onc switched me to Aromasin. Problem solved...for almost a year. But since October pain is back and once again building. My hip joint is the main problem and I have been limping around. Meloxicam (antinflammatory) works pretty well on the pain but it is not a good idea to use it for long periods of time because of gastric SEs. I also use tylenol with codeine sparingly when the pain is really bad.

I am hoping that my onc will try the ping-pong technique again and put me on Femara SOON.

Wishing you all the best!

I had arthritis to begin with - mild, manageable and mostly the wear-and-tear kind from years of athletics - and, I've noticed, that tamoxifen is making this a bit more noticeable.  It's still what I would term mild and manageable, but I have noticed that it's a "change" for me.  I find that I have to keep moving: if I have been sitting and knitting, for example, I stiffen up, but after walking 5 miles, I feel pretty "loose".  But that's just me.

I have very mild joint pain on Arimidex but as I move around throughout the day, it diminishes. I exercise almost daily and am active at work. I supplement with glucosimin/chondroitin ,MSM and vitamin D3. Cortisone shots may help. Exercise and movement have been great. I was doing this before I started Arimidex so my aches were never bad. Hope it. Gets better for you.
