I have Osteopenia and have been having hip and leg bone pain for the past couple months.  I saw a Radiologist who says I have Bursitis but now I'm wondering if my pain could be from bone-loss.  Have anyone else had this issue?

I have osteopenia as well, I have a lot of pain in my ribs but no sign of return cancer. My GP ordered a bone scan done because of the pain-it came out clear. I find it hard not to suspect a return everytime I have a pain.

My orthopedist says that bursitis is in the joints, while pain along the shaft of the bones is something else.

We were able to confirm this by applying physical therapy and lots of ice to the joint, it resolved within a few weeks.

I have been on the offensive against osteoporosis and its little sister for years now - it is very unusual to have bone pain unless there is another condition involved - aromatase inhibitors do it sometimes, so does hyperparathyroidism.
