Since April of 2018, after being diagnosed with IDC in my right breast, I put all of my energy into changing my lifestyle. I had a lumpectomy and left things alone after that, even though the margins were not clear. I ate and drank only organic, took herbs, vitamins, mineral, detoxed my liver, and did numerous other things that I thought would be helpful. I also got follow-up testing every 6 months that showed no negative changes. There was a spot in my right breast that I refused to get biopsied under MRI though, until I had some time to see if my natural ways would have time to possibly resolve the issue.

I allowed the MRI Guided Biopsy after 2 1/2 years. The Pathology Report came back DCIS. So this month I had a Bilateral Mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. No lymph nodes were taken. It went well and was very surprisingly painless, except when the drains were removed, which felt like daggers, but only for a moment.

I had to fight with my doctors to get them to remove what they called a "healthy Breast", but I figured that if I could be so cautious with everything I did for almost 3 years and still have right breast DCIS, then why wouldn't it be in my left side too. It ended up that I made the right decision and my surgeon and plastic surgeon were glad things went the way they did. Fortunately, all diseased tissue was removed with the Bilateral Mastectomy and all margins were clear. My Oncologist feels there is no need for chemo or radiation.

All the breast tissue from both breasts went to pathology. It came back with a 3mm IDC tumor on the right side with large areas of DCIS. On the left side there was large areas of LCIS, which everyone was very surprised about, as nothing ever showed up on any of my tests.

I will continue to eat and drink all organic, get lots of exercise, plenty of rest, and also avoid as much needless stress as possible. It may not have gotten rid of the breast cancer and pre-breast cancer, but I truly feel and look much more healthy than prior to my initial diagnosis.
