Nipple pain

hi there. Not sure if this is the current forum to post this question, but here goes. Can one have nipple pain before and during menstruation even after a mastectomy? My breasts and nipples were always sore and painful prior to my diagnosis, but now that I have had a double mastectomy, I still sometimes experience nipple pain during that time of the month. I know that a mastectomy cannot completely remove all breast tissue, but… I just figured that the soreness would have subsided. My BMX was in 2017, and I am followed by my BS every 6 months, in which a ultrasound is performed during each visit.
