Hi Ladies,

I have been diagnosed with two tumors in the same breast - one being HER2+ and the other Triple Negative. I'm hoping to find similar cases and treatment plans with results/prognosis. I'm told by my Onc that it is unusual to have two tumors so close together with different receptors. Has anyone out there experienced this? Thank you in advance for any response.

Lori, Wow, it's been a long road for you. Did you just have your last surgery? How are you doing?

Slow,

I had breast tumor that was Her2 neg and micromet to one node that was Her2 +++. Both were ER and PR +.

We were both DX at the same time, but I had surgery then chemo. Didn't need readiation. I am halfway through Herceptin and I just started tamoxifen about 5 days ago. I will probably be having a complete Hysterectomy this month. I had previous Adenomyosis which is a benign condition but cause excessive bleeding and pain. Tamoxifen can worsen it, I do not want to deal with the bleeding anymore, I have had 4 months of chemopause so far and it is amazing. The probably is because my recon is scheduled for this month and Drs are coordinating to see if both can be done at same time, so date may change.

You actually finished chemo before me. I have not haad any post tests yet, nor do I know when they may be ordered.

I wish you the best

naiviv, I haven't had any post tests either. I do get a MUGA scan every three months though. Sounds like you've been through a lot. I'm glad you didn't have to have radiation. Good luck to you. I will try and keep track of you to see how you're doing.

I know this is an old post, but wondering the status of anyone else in this situation.  My initial diagnosis was TN, and after NA treatment and surgery my receptors 'changed'.  I still had 1 tumor that was TN, but the other tumor and lymph nodes which the biopsy showed as TN, now showed HER2+++.  My clinical team was all surprised, and obviously my NA treatment was not very successful on those tumors.  We redid all the pathology (to include redoing the initial biopsy), and I got multiple opinions.  The end result being that there is no standard of care and at this point we are trying things.  I had residual disease from both expressions and we are balancing targeted therapy and adjuvant chemo with need for radiation.  Anyone else have anything similar?

My biopsy report came back as TN. I had chemo first and a lumpectomy the pathology from the surgerycame back hormone neg, her2 positive. I am now on herceptin. Not sure if I am better off because I am no longer considered TN. I only had one tumor. I wonder if it's a problem that I didn't start herceptin while I was on chemo.

I am triple neg and have remained so thru my latest recurrence. We had fingers and toes crossed for HER positive because I could have then had more Chemo and Herceptin. As I have three sets of chemo: FEC, D and Xeloda, There is no more standard treatment and am now waiting to see if I will get accepted to trial.

Hope the herceptin works for you
