My mother just got her pathology report after surgery, could you please help me understand the below points:

1- lymphovascular invasion: identified, including dermal lymphatic invasion

2-Tumor cells are positive for pan-CK while negative for S100 and CD34

I have no idea what theses two statements means. Could you please help me interpret them

Kkmay, The first part means that there were some cancer cells that made it into her lymphatic system. Dermal lymph iinvasion is thought to be a marker for aggressiveness.

The testing of the tumor cells likely determines therapeutic options from here if any would be needed. Some times there are actionable mutations in the tumor cells. I am not sure of these components specifically but thats probably what they mean, it indicates a treatment pathway if you are positive for something..

hi, I have the same problem reading my pathology reports

Sometimes I'll Google a word I don't know here and there but for a complete picture I sit down with my oncologist and breast surgeon and ask if they can explain in layman's terms. Sorry your mom and you are going through this health challenge. G-d speed.
