Hi all, two or three years ago I noticed an area of tissue "thickening" in one of my breasts, just one. Last year noticed another area. They're mirrored on the other side, just thicker and firmer on one side. I understand lobular cancer sometimes presents like this. They don't go away but they do get firmer and painful around by period I think. I had an ultrasound and had my gynecologist and the radiologist felt it and they said it seems like normal breast tissue. The ultrasound results showed birads 1. Im 28 with no history of cancer in the family (except for grandmother who had thyroid cancer from radiation exposure).

I will probably go back to the doctor to keep an eye on it. Might request an MRI. But my question is, is it possible for fibrocystic breasts to present this way? I am somewhat uncomfortable being told that it's normal.but not knowing why the changes could occur.
