I found this free pattern online when I was searching for how to make chemo head covers.

This one is kind of worn like a kerchief, but instead of being just a flat, square peice, it's shaped to the head. I made one today, and I found it to be a fairly easy pattern. I tried it on when I finished, and it covers the head very nicely and stays on securely.

I made several headwear thingies, and what I found most comfy was a triangular, hemmed piece of cotton cloth to which I sewed a  piece of felt along the longest side (about 1 and 1/2 inches wide and 10 inches long).  I tied it in the back and the felt piece touching my severely receded hairline (!!) kept it from slipping back.

Big Rapids is about 50-60 miles north of Grand Rapids.

Thanks for the tip about the felt! I was thinking about trying to make some head coverings that were just a single layer of fabric too, for the hotter days during the summer.
