I am always researching information on vaginal dryness and difficulty achieving orgasm. It's like they neutered me, orgasm is almost, but not quite impossible to achieve. Well I am using Estriol cream for vaginal dryness and urinary incontinence issues, it helps, not as bad a problem as it used to be. Not enough of a fix for my sex life, which is important to me. It is a strong comfort and connection for me with my husband. I saw research about it not causing changes in serum hormone levels and it is supposed to help with clitoral sensitivity. I am wondering has anyone started to use it who has had bc. I would love if I could safely have a better sex life, I miss what I had just a few years ago.

Has Vaginorm been FDA approved? I've been reading about the clinical trials for a few years, but I hadn't read that it was approved for sale in the U.S. or elsewhere, for that matter. I would be very interested in it, but my MO has said before that while he would approve limited use of testosterone because it's been used in bc clinical trials, he would not do so for DHEA because it had not been clinically evaluated. BTW, even though I used very small amounts of testosterone with his approval, it had no effect on restoring my sex drive. It wasn't until he had me stop taking Femara for about a month to determine if it was causing dizziness and Vertigo (it was), my sex drive came back at the end of the month holiday. Unfortunately, once I got back on Femara, my sex drive went away again. I know that DHEA can convert to estrogen but I think it mostly converts to testosterone, if I'm not mistaken, so without the estrogen conversion I don't know if libido can be restored. But I would be so grateful if it worked and was safe for bc - it is depressing not to have a sex life along with the other side effects.

It isn't available here yet, but is available in Europe, I think. I saw they are doing research on the DHEA in combination with a SERM for menopausal sx's in combination with bc prevention in women at risk.

I responded in PM, but will here as well in case someone else is interested.

The DHEA cream worked about as well as REPLENS for me. I was looking for something to decrease pain and dryness. At the time of the trial it was compounded at a Pharmacy in North Dakota. They mailed it to me, and I think I was paying $40 a month (can't remember exactly).

It has worked for some women, and I'm not saying it didn't work for me. I'm saying I was not satisfied with the results compared to the work (every day thing) and the expense.

I am updating this thread. I started using DHEA vaginal suppositories from Murray Avenue Compounding Apothecary. I have been using for 10 days, vaginal dryness is gone. Had sex without lubricant for the first time in a looong while. Felt sexy, and INTERESTED! Had better orgasms, than I have had since this misery started almost 4 years ago. Usually I could nearly give up, it takes so long to get anywhere. I only use 1/2 suppository per night. Initially tried the whole one as recommended, but woke up with a headache, so did 1/3 at bedtime for first 7 days, then increased to 1/2 suppository. In 2 weeks I will try to use every other night, then decrease further to 2 to 3 nights per week. Not messy, really seems to work. FINALLY! .!!

This is to ensure they are kept in an unvarying temperature environment and, most often, not for drug stability. We also recommend leaving your current dose outside of the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes prior to insertion, this allows for easier removal from the mold without breaking or cracking the suppository. When shipping our suppositories, the manner in which they are shipped depends greatly on several factors, including: seasonal temperature, distance traveled and drug stability. Our ice packs are manufactured to distribute hot or cold in accordance with product and surrounding temperatures. Ice packs may reach you frozen or unfrozen; this is because they are used to stabilize the temperature of the package during the shipping. Receiving an unfrozen ice pack does not mean that your product has been compromised. We want to assure you that the pharmacists and technicians at Murray Avenue Apothecary take every precaution to get your products to you, so that you receive the highest quality item. Hi, just thought I would update this. I have been using a vaginal suppository that contains DHEA several nights per week. I am less dry by a good bit, and having less little "accidents " when I am heading to the toilet. I think that would work better if I took the whole dose each night, but I only take half a suppository, because I got a headache on the full dose. I am also using a Cocoa Butter and Acidophilus suppository that I got at Bastry's Dispensery at the Natural Medicine Clinic, in Seattle. It seems to make the me feel comfortable in combination with the DHEA supossitory . I think my orgasms are better than they were, not up to what they were before they got me, but better.
