After a few vet visits, including a trip to the emergency vet, my kitty girl, my <3, is suspected to have cancer. The vet felt a mass in her abdomen and felt pretty confident it was cancer. Put her on steroids and if they work, we could have another year. If not, we will be saying goodbye in a few weeks to months. I’m heartbroken . My girl has comforted me through an initial diagnosis and treatment as well as a stage iv diagnosis last year. She truly is my best friend. I’m completely heartbroken

I am so, so sorry. That is very hard. I'm sending you hugs from Washington DC. That is just too close to home.

I’m so sorry. I lost my beloved beagle to cancer and it broke my heart. We got her cremated and I have her at home. I haven’t had the heart to spread her ashes yet. We recently got a new puppy but it’s not the same. I am so truly sorry.

I'm so sorry. I lost my 18 year old cat to bladder cancer in January. She left a hole that can't be filled.

Pets are so special. It's hard to process when we have/had cancer and then they do. I cherish the fact that I had her for so long and that, while it didn't seem easy at the time, it really was a quick decision to euthanize. It was time.

I still think of my Rosie-girl kitty and it's been 11 years since I had to put her down. She was 18 and I got her when she was a kitten. Not only did she comfort me through so many hard times, she was my baby-slept with me every night.

Sending love and comfort. I know how hard this is.

I'm so sorry. Our beloved yorkie passed about 6 years ago, at age 15 1/2, from brain cancer. Took us a couple of years to grieve. Then we were ready to adopt our little Pomeranian, who we also adore.

Thank you all for the support.. I cannot tell you how much it means. She has been with me every step in this bc journey and provided me with unconditional love. She didn’t care when I had no hair.. when I felt icky from chemo or when I was sobbing after receiving a stage iv diagnosis. Such a loyal and loving friend. She truly has my heart

I’m so sorry for you. What a stressful and sad situation. Earlier this year, I had to put my cat to sleep and start my new chemo regimen the next day. She was the first pet my husband and I got together and my kids had her their whole lives. She too was my comforting companion when I just felt terrible so I know the support you feel from your cat. And I know you want to do the same by her. The pitiful look my cat gave me at the vets office let me know it was time. It was heartbreaking but the vet and staff were so supportive, we had the last appointment and privacy.

I'm sure she does. And I'm sure she loves you right back!

None of us - pets included - will be around forever. It's wonderful that you have such a strong bond with each other. That's what matters.

I am certain that she knows how you love her. My ♥️dog had 2 different types of cancers on 2 different feet. They were removed and I worried about recurrence. He almost made it to his 17th Birthday. I was able to spend a whole day with him. Mostly I held him and talked to him and took many photos. I made some 'clay' and made foot prints. I am glad that I spent time with him. He left us the next morning.🌈

Enjoy you little girl. Revel in her sweetness. Know that you have friends that really do understand that special bond and care for you both.

♥️♥️ Jack

Same here, my beloved dog has an incurable cancer, and while it was aggressive and they couldn't remove all of it when she was in surgery, she's still going strong two years later. When it returns, I intend to treat her with dog deworming meds like fenbendazole, which have a strong anti-cancer activity (microtubule inhibitors, which is how several chemos work), hoping that it will give her a longer and better quality of life..
