Sorry you're really here and the scans weren't wrong :( It really takes a while to adjust so give yourself time. It's like all the phases of grief but might be in weird order or all at once.

I didn't start feeling better emotionally until about 5 mos after dx but everyone is different.

Has your MO given you info about next steps?

The lung met subforum is quiet (I'm there too) but the bone is active and you might want to join.

Hugs & Kleenex & lot of cups of soothing tea

lehrski— echoing Moth’s words ... sorry you find yourself here. But at the same time, glad you found us. There are so many helpful metsters here. Ask any questions you have. You are not alone.

Have you had all the scans once the MO suspects progression? I was diagnosed Dec 2019. The weeks that followed were filled with scans and tests but am in more of a routine now where I take Ibrance and Letrozole, get a monthly XGEVA shot (bone strengthener), monthly MO visit, monthly bloodwork and port flush; then scans every 3 months.

lehrski, we hear you and we're here to help. It makes me feel like a warm blanket has been wrapped around me and you when I see all these familiar names responding to you. They are truly lovely ladies who are strong and kind.

That diagnosis is something, huh? I sometimes wish I was the type who could cry it out of my system, but I went straight into planning and attack mode. Everyone needs space to handle it in their own way. Know that what you chose is good and right for you.

I remember feeling the diagnosis not just in my head but in my body as well. It's like you are pushed into freezing water on a hot summer day. It takes your breath away for a minute. Your nerves relay the messages of pain to your brain, you let out a scream, and then your arms and legs start moving to get yourself out of the water. But even when you get out of the water, your body still reacts with shivering to protect itself and build up your internal temperature. For me, my body reacted by telling my brain that it was TIRED and needed more time to process the flood of emotions that had just smacked me in the face.

So, I'm giving my body more rest and on my good days, I give it some exercise as well. I try to eat lots of protein and less processed foods but I can't bring myself to go vegan or give up sugar. Everything in moderation seems to work for me and you'll find something that feels right for you.

One. Day. At. A. Time. ❤️

(((Hugs)))
