No one has all the answers, and everyone fighting breast cancer walks there own path. I've watched as both of my grandmothers have passed away from this deadly disease. Both had strong faiths, but that manifested different ways in their lives. I don't know if yoga would have helped them, but for some, it can serve as a way to keep the faith. As someone who has many people close to me who have been affected by cancer, and as a strong advocate of yoga, my question is, when someone suggests yoga as a way to stay active and keep the faith during this trying time, is it helpful or patronizing?

We can imagine that yoga, exercise, complementary treatments, and faith is incredibly individual, and would depend greatly on their physical condition, as well as their spiritual leanings. If it makes sense for a particular individual, it can certainly be helpful to mention it to them. We have a few articles on yoga here: http://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/comp_med/typ..., http://www.breastcancer.org/research-news/yoga-may..., and https://community.breastcancer.org/blog/restorativ..., for starters.
