Hello all,

I have just reached the fourth anniversary of my diagnosis and now have enough hair to donate to an organization that makes wigs for women and/or children. My Internet searches have not been terribly successful so I thought I would ask this great community: Do you or loved ones have relatively recent (positive or negative) experience with any of the various programs and organizations? What should I be looking for in choosing one?

And: is this the right forum in which to post, or is there a better one?

BTW; I greatly benefited from these fora while I was going through my treatments; just not a terribly chatty person myself about private matters. But I do try to pay it forward in my daily life.

Many thanks!

I cut off my own long hair and had a hairpiece made by these folks - they specialize in making these for cancer patients and those affected by alopecia. You can donate hair to them and they will use it for someone whose own hair is not long enough to use. They make excellent quality products for people around the world - they happen to be located where I live and I have had the opportunity to meet them and see what they do!

My daughter donated her hair to Pantene. They only required 8" of hair length at the time. I'm sure you could find the info for them online.
