Hi all! I was diagnosed with DCIS (right breast only) in January 2015. I had a bilateral mastecomy in February 2015 and did not do reconstruction. The surgery was "my answer" and no further treatment was required. I have two kids (my daughter was one month old at the time of diagnosis).

Fast forward to today. I'm 32yo. It's been almost 18 months since my surgery. My husband and I are still unsure about a baby number three.

Can anyone shed some light on their experience with pregnancy after their bilateral mastecomy? What was your experience? Did you have any trouble?

I obviously won't be able to breastfeed, which is a weird thought. But I will just have to get past that...even though that has been one of the most devastating parts of this whole thing (I was BFing my daughter and had to quit due to the breast cancer.).

Anything to ease my mind or provide a different perspective would be helpful!! Thank you.

I just had a baby boy and as far as I know and my doctors know, the only effect is that we cannot breast feed. There are pros and cons of breast vs bottle but one nice things about bottle feeding is you can share nighttime feeding with your partner!
