Hello all,

One of the lovely moderators suggested I try this forum after posting in the invasive lobular forum with no replies...

I am writing from Australia. I have had no success over finding anyone else who was this young at diagnosis currently or previously with ILC. I asked my breast nurse to reach out to her colleagues for me across Australia and no one has replied saying they have a patient with the same at a similar age.

I am 27, on 13/2/19 I was diagnosed with classic invasive lobular carcinoma L) breast.

I have no family history. was of previous very good health (still feel healthy!) and moderately fit. Married, no kids yet.

Had L) mastectomy and axilliary clearance 28/2 - tumour 5cm and 1 x 1mm micromet in 1/14 lymph nodes, stage 2B.

I've searched around the Australian forum with no luck, everyone “young” I’ve seen diagnosed with lobular isover 40. I asked my surgeon and oncologist, both can only recall one other patient they treated under 30 with ILC.

Thought I'd try here - I'm looking for hope. Is there anyone out there beyond 5 year disease free survival who has had ILC in my age range?

I start chemotherapy today actually! Plan is 4 rounds of AC and 4 Taxol with likely radiation after.

Thank you.

Hello youngdogmum,

I have the same problem as you. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 26. That was in August 2018. It was a tubulo-lobular carcinoma. I also have no family history and it hit me hard. My tumor was 7 cm and 4 sentinel lymph nodes were affected. I did not find anyone in a German forum, that's why I'm here.

Greetings to the other end of the world.Hug

Hi! Awesome to meet you on under these circumstances. I think we young ladies with lobular components are few and far between...

Did you have chemotherapy as well? How have you found life after active treatment? Are you on hormone therapy now? How is your life now, are you back doing everything you previously enjoyed? Please share if you feel comfortable!!
