Karen, So glad your DD had such a nice birthday....and you have every right to be proud to be her mama!

LOL Mema, I didn't mean I wrote "purty" instead of "purdy", but that I said that I "feel purty" when I meant "I feel purty good"! Don't weally feel purty at all!! Yuppers, wese is "some ol' shoes"....dat is sooo funnneeeee! I got onto DH for leaving me the lortab (hydrocodone) and NOT reminding me to take it with food. He thought I would remember the nurse telling me that in recovery....WTH??? Didn't he realize I was so out of it then???? Silly men! Starting to wear off a bit, but still feel horrid with it. Pain was only starting, I am sure now that tylenol would have taken care of it.

Lisa, SO hate to hear that the effexor is making you feel bad....but now that is on the prev page, and I forget what you said about it. Hoping you can sleep well tonight (without the darn hot flashes keeping you up), and that you will feel so much better tomorrow. Did you get to meet Dotty today?

Mema, So glad you and Lori will get to have 1 dwink together...hope someone can take a pic of you both having a toast! That will be awesome.

Karen, that wine doesn't even sound good to me right now....but tomorrow night is another story!

Still waiting to hear from AdorKable....are you okay????

Hugs to all.....

Hope dis one lasts a long time, not 3 mo like dat udder gal I met. The nurse said it could help in a day or two, or take up to 2 wks. Dats why she said to take da lortab wid me...no way, though. Apparently affects me like it does you...but there are 2 strengths (at least), and I had the lower strength, but was prescribed the higher strength. Guess it helps more if you take it on a full tummy. BUT I don't wanna twy it again!!! Not too sore today.  Tanx for your WUNNERFUL post!!!! Hugs! Kat

OH MY, not sure if y'all even want to know what Kopi Luwak is! It's a coffee....of sorts! But also has to do with poop!

NM - You asked!

I will post the Wikipedia version of it, read at your own will!

Kopi luwak (Indonesian pronunciation: [ˈkopi ˈlu.aʔ]), or civet coffee, is one of the world's most expensive and low-production varieties of coffee. It is made from the beans of coffee berries which have been eaten by the Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) and other related civets, then passed through its digestive tract.[1] A civet eats the berries for their fleshy pulp. In its stomach, proteolytic enzymes seep into the beans, making shorter peptides and more free amino acids. Passing through a civet's intestines the beans are then defecated, keeping their shape. After gathering, thorough washing, sun drying, light roasting and brewing, these beans yield an aromatic coffee with much less bitterness.[citation needed] This coffee was widely noted as the most expensive coffee in the world with prices reaching $160 per pound.[2] Since then Uchunari grade 0 coffee has been introduced on the international coffee market.

Kopi luwak is produced mainly on the islands of Sumatra, Java, Bali and Sulawesi in the Indonesian Archipelago. It is also produced in the Philippines (where the product is called motit coffee in the Cordillera, kape alamid in Tagalog areas) and also produced in East Timur (where it is called kafé-laku). Weasel coffee is a loose English translation of its Vietnamese name cà phê Chồn, where popular, chemically simulated versions are also produced. However, Vietnam has 2 farms with 300 wild civets in Dak Lak. The farmers collect the coffee seeds and produce only 300 kg of authentic vietnamese chon coffee. The civets live in the wild and are fed beef. The processed civet beans are imported to the UK to the farmers' sole UK supplier.

This would be the Asian Palm Civet

Kathy....what is lortab?  pain med?

My DD and SIL have a keurig.....I don't drink coffee...but my DH, DS and DD#2 do...DH has several coffee "makers"....french press, percolater and cone filter....depending on the day is what he uses....DS uses a french press....and DD just drinks flavored instant....I can't stand the taste of anything coffee...I only drink 3 things....water, herbal tea (fruit flavors) and RED Wine!!!

Feeling real emotional tonight...feel like I'm going to break down...and oh would the tears feel good...but OH NO....that won't happen....I wouldn't be so lucky to manage a good cry.....so going to pour a 2nd glass of wine....Cheers!!!

Mema, I like to get my K-cups at Kohls on sale...I have quite a stockpile right now! My goils are 36 and 34...had to figure that out!  They both look like they're 20 or so, and my youngest DD's oldest DD (my gdau) is almost 14, and TALL and already wears a 9.5 shoe! So they never think the 3 kids are hers...she just looks too young. Hope you can find some new shoes! I still need to figger out which ones ta take....I have been wearing my "fitflops" for months now...will be strange to wear real shoes.

Karen, Lortab is Hydrocodone (so is Vicodin)...I took a lesser strength that I got from my surgery last month...thank god....cuz on an empty tummy it made me sooo sick. The script my DH picked up for me from yesterday is tooooo strong for me. Yeah, I like the flavored coffees, and my DH has an espresso machine and he likes it sooo strong. He loves Europe and OZ and NZ as you can get espresso everywhere! It is getting more prevalent in the states lately though. Wish you could cry and get it all out!

Dorkie, Puleez wish your DH a BERRY HAPPY BIRFDEY from all of us here! Hope he is having a good evening... *wink, wink*. Glad you got some retail therapy at Ross'! We have 2 of them, and you can really find some nice stuff, but I haven't been in them for awhile. I also like TJMaxx.I used to get my pottery from Portugal cheaper there than I could get them for in Portugal! But I think the old factory closed, as I haven't seen any there for a yr or so, and can't find online info on it. It is quite popular and had been in business for years, outside of Lisbon. There was talk of it closing on our last visit though. And no worries about climbing stairs today...it was just yesterday that I had to take it real easy. I didn't do much today though and am really behind. My mom is looking forward to me coming over there tomorrow to help her with stuff, though. LOVE your spring flowers pic....GAWGEOUS!!!

I can't wait to get to my favorite place to eat, and have ESPADA..it is a scabbard fish (looks almost like a mean eel), that lives very deep and is white until it is exposed to air, then the skin turns black right away! Really good when they cook it the traditional way, with bananas! Just love it!

Espada fish, also known as the black scabbered, is the basis for one of the best Madeira meals.  You are unlikely to find this on the menu anywhere else in the world.

However, the espada fish is not an over-priced menu item aimed solely at the tourist.  It is also one of the favourite dishes with the local population.  A fleet of small fishing boats set sail every evening to land the catch by hand. Indeed, the black scabbard fish resides in the deep water off the coast at depths of between 600 and 1,600 metres.  The only economical way to catch them is by using single, drop lines. The haul is then packed in ice and sold at various fish markets early each morning

Greetings from Ice Planet Hoth!

Wahine - bummer dat you dint sleep last nite too weel. Me needer, I had to do trash duty dis am and for us mountain folk dis is a big deel...cuz...trash pick up is about 6:45 am each week BUTT we cant leave cans out cuz da Bears and Coyotes and (maybe some a duh neighbors???) make a mess goin thru the trash...so the routine is dat each Twos-dey morning real early, snow, hail, ice, sleet, wuddever, the trash gets hauled down 2 miles to da county road. My Dear DH usually does dis, but he doing uddr woyk at the coast where no snow is currently sticking. So get this....... "I" had to do it! Eeeeee, "ME" hadda do it! That meant gittin up early enuf to hab some poop coffee (tee hee), fight off da ASIAN PALM CIVETS getting to my garage and dwiving down the Hoth planet road in da dark to dump da twash can on da woad. And of course it snowed again last night so it was a reeeeeel adventure! Then DH doesn't like me to put the twash cans in my gorgeous 4-runner, so he wanted me to use one of the pick ups, but he locked the steering wheel so freaking tight, dere was really no way dis bean could unlock it. So poor Geneveve hadda haul the can, but she is such a super trooper! She just flys thru the ice and snow and is so steady and what a great car! Her wif snow tires and 4x4 is just amazing! Anyway I din't sleep well cuz I was worried I couldn't wake mesef up early enough for all this action. So I tink I will sweep weeel tonite!

Those always work for me when I'm feeling pissy. Just kidding, and I don't mean to make a joke but you are so funny about Lisa and her pee em meetings...darn that you two didn't get together! But sounds like you got some shopping done. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DH TOO! Hope you have a fun time together and I love the pwetty butterfly picture.

Karen - Awww, so sawwy you feel emotional but not cwying...sure hope the wine will loosen up the feelings so they can flow.
