Okay, a few of us have had so much fun on another thread comparing the ways in which we are still vain, that I thought it deserved its own thread. Everybody chime in... how vain are you?
Edited to add:
We on the "How Vain Are You?" thread recognize that our sense of fun- and humour is not to everyone's taste. Hence, we have chosen the "Humour and Games" forum to let our hair down. Although swapping "vain" stories, style tips and beauty secrets are always eagerly welcomed, going off-topic is not a crime. Neither is bad language or differing opinions. We recognize that each- and every one of us is interested in conventional, complementary, holistic and alternative treatments as long as there is science-based research behind each- and every one. [Like someone said, if honey badger pee as a treatment for breast cancer had hard science behind it, I would be the first in line.] We reserve the right to honestly discuss the strengths and weaknesses (and dangers) of everything, and laugh at the ridiculousness of life.
This thread is for sharing and laughter, but it is also about the freedom to DISCOURSE, DISCUSS, DECONSTRUCT, DEBATE and DEBUNK the various- and sundry myths out there about breast cancer and breast cancer treatment no matter what they are. But don't forget to recommend your favourite lipstick shade along the way.

DD when she lived at home and I shared some version of Chanel - it was wonderful, bought at Ulta for a really good price. Wish I could remember the name - don't see it around there now. My DM loved Chanel #5 - I love it on others. I have a spray bottle of Jessica McClintock "Jess" that I love and use sparingly. Also love L'air du Temps. Also tried one time sample of Ralph Lauren "Safari for Women".

I remember when Avon made lipbalms for little girls with cases that looked like ice cream cones or cookies. LOVED mine! One year for Christmas, my mother gave me a little gingerbread man pin from Avon that had a solid perfume in it that smelled like... gingerbread! There was, also, bathroom soaps in mint, packaged like Lifesavers.
Yep. I was a "vainster" at the age of eight.

My first job was working in a very ritzy little ladies boutique. We sold Frances Denney cosmetics. I still love Hope & Interlude perfumes and they had the perfect neutral taupe eyeshadow "Mushroom".
Then I worked cosmetics in the drugstore through the rest of high school & college (back when drugstores actually had a cosmetics counter & salesperson). I wish I could still have a bottle of Jovan Frankincense & Myrrh perfume from the late 70's.

OMG. I cannot believe it, and perhaps I am not following. Selena. Are you being PRESSURED to add an annotation to our thread in the name of political correctness? And if so, who is pressuring you?
Sorry I am so slow.. but could this be true? If so, it is ridonculous. Who cares if we talk about how we are vain?

bobo,
No Selena is not being pressured to do any such thing. She is just flying the flag for those of us who have been thoroughly enjoying this thread and it's fun trajectory.

Oh, Selena! I still have my Avon pins with the fragrance inside. What wonderful memories! I don't have the ice cream cone lip balms though. I remember once mine (lip balm) went through the wash. I was devastated.
