Hi friends,

I've been having pain in one of my reconstructed breasts.  I'm one-year post BMX and recon using my inner thigh muscles, fat, etc.

Is this unusual?  It feels like nerve pain.  Could some of the feeling be coming back?  In other words, could it be nerves healing?

Any experience or advice would be helpful!

It could well be some nerver regeneration. I wouldn't count on much feeling coming back, though.

If the pain persists, please contact your doctor, though.

I have pain in my reconstructed breast daily of some kind or another. Under my arm, in my side, armpit, shooting pains in the breast, in the muscle under the breast, all around it. I am currently deciding between augmentation, doing nothng or possibly another mastectomy on my 'healthy' breast but these pain issues concern me.  I wonder if it ever goes away?  I wonder too - how can a numb breast experience so much pain???  lifelover - it's interesting that it's only one breast.  I tried to atlk to my new PS but he pressed painfully hard where my lymph node used to be and said -" see that 's what it is".  And then - "You start wearing a regular bra again and your muscles will get used to it!"  I don't think he got it.

Anybody - is this pain thing typical?  I had my MX June 30, 2011, exchange Dec 2, 2011.
