I am 32 years old and male.

I had a mastectomy on the 9th of January

I just got my pathology report back

I am not sure what any of it means:

My Pathologic stage classification is: PT2N1aMX

My cancer is Invasive ductal carcinoma EP+, HER2-

Main Tumor Grade 2:

Tubular differentiation: 3

Nuclear pleomorphism: 2

Mitotic rate: 1

Main tumor: 5 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm

Lymphnode: 1.5 x 1.4 x 1.4 cm with extra nodal extension 7mm (has macrometastasis)

I had 5 lymph nodes removed only one had metastic ductal carcinoma (its a lymphnode in the breast forget the name of the lymphnode) the rest are benign (in armpit).

I am going back to my surgeon on Friday, and to see an oncologist.

I was told when having my drain removed that I will be having chemo and radiation.

I do not know what any of the medical speak means - if anyone does please can you assist?

Is it stage 3A or 2B?

Von - Glad today was OK. Good idea to suck on ice while you're having the infusions.

Good news. The first infusion is a guide for subsequent ones of the same kind.

VC, tell those little chemo suckers to get right in there and kick ass on any lingering cells. I worked at not hating chemo during all my infusions over 5 months. I tried (sometimes it worked better than other times) to see that all side effects I experienced, from weight loss to hair loss to hypersensitive smell to mood changes to some fatigue were all proof that my chemo soldiers were getting to every part of my body -- and were completing a deep clean to get rid of any cancer cells hiding in my corners.

Reframing the experience helped me get through it.
